What a good blog looks like

I had to think about the question "What is a good blog?" many times, because before I started this blog, I have never blogged before and I didn't really know how to do it and what to write about. So, what really is a good blog? Do good bloggers only write about general topics like the climate change or world politics? Can you write about some personal stuff like your favorite place on earth or your favorite food? Are other people even interested in your favorite food? I mean, who cares if you like to eat pasta or a risotto? From my point of view, personal stuff is totally fine as long as you don't write about how cute your cat or your dog is. Nobody is interested in that. However, you can write about your favorite place, for example. I always research a place before I decide where to go on vacation and some blog posts certainly are useful! (Same with the worst place you've ever been to!) Also, you can write about your favorite food, but maybe combine it with your favorite restaurant and make a little review and I'm sure people will love to read that.
What I intend to do to make my blog posts more interesting for people is to write about topics that readers are interested in reading about. For example, I love to read about other people's journeys, experiences and the countries they've traveled, but also about their opinion on political issues. I am going to blog about the stuff I would like to read, too. From my point of view the most important thing is that you have to be passionate about the things your write in order to make your blog posts interesting for others.
